Four new volunteers in Curahuasi
It is as though the forklift took not only boxes containing infusions, but also a palette of volunteers to be transported to Peru. Long live replenishments. The storehouse crew delivers to order. If only everything were that easy!
In reality Annika Jung, Grace Mark, Linda Bernhardt and Rafael Burkhardt thoroughly thought about and thought through their journey to Peru. Their 12 months stint at Diospi Suyana is the result of a long and conscientious examination. And once they had made their decision no Corona-wave could deter the four adventurers. Two of them will work at the missionary hospital, two at the school.
The international voluntary year abroad is yearned for by the youth, subsidised by the Government, permitted by the parents and wished for by Diospi Suyana. During their time in Curahuasi a fair number of teens and twens set the course for the rest of their lives.
A big thank you to Family Bigalke who picked up our friends at Cusco Airport. Our member-care worker Marion Hoffmann welcomed the new-arrivals with choice, homemade delicacies. But on Monday the pampering programme is over. Then they will roll up their sleeves and get involved. We are looking forward to their time with us and wish them God’s blessing.
