A quantum leap for the Diospi Suyana missionary hospital
The MRI scanner is set up. All the equipment is connected in the technical room next to it and on the second floor. The first team from Erlangen/Germany is due to arrive in Curahuasi in mid-June to start training our staff.

It should not go unmentioned that only one hospital in the entire world will receive a model of this innovative advancement. A historic donation in kind from the winners of the German Future Prize 2023 supported by Siemens Healthineers and Siemens Caring Hands. The story that led to this gift sounds like a fairy tale from 1001 Nights. The brother of one of the three winners learned about the vision of our hospital in Peru 18 months earlier through a mistake on Spotify. As a highlight, all participants were invited to Bellevue Palace by the German Federal President. That was on November 27, 2024.
A 90-year-old man in an old people’s home in Australia once said to me: “Diospi Suyana is more proof that in life, truth is stranger than fiction!” (Truth is stranger than fiction).
