“I can highly recommend doing a social voluntary year at Diospi Suyana!”
Where there is a good atmosphere, you find Olga, and where Olga is, you find a good atmosphere. Our first Greek social volunteer for one year gladly lends a helping hand at the Diospi-Suyana-School and if needed also in the Kindergarten. It was on her 18th birthday that Olga (with the beaming smile) first heard of Diospi Suyana. Perhaps this information was among the best of her birthday presents. Two years later the head of school, Christian Bigalke, calls her an integral component of the team: “Olga is smart, quick and flexible.”
The first four months of her stint in Peru are already over: “I have gained so much life-experience here and have become more self-confident,” is her verdict. Then she goes on to say that the time at Diospi Suyana is even better than what she expected: what fine music to our ears!
Currently Olga is doing an internship with midwife Monika. For her the births are real highlights. Who knows if during these weeks the foundation for her future career is being laid! “Olga,” I ask, “how did it come about that you are a born-again Christian?”
Years ago my Greek aunt gave me a Bible which have read regularly ever since. After a while the content became crystal clear!” /KDJ
