In the presence of the three winners of the Deutscher Zukunftspreis 2023
The audience in the lecture hall has just heard an incredible story. The professor of the radiology clinic and two Siemens engineers donated all their prize money from the Future Prize 2023 to a hospital in the Andes in Peru. And Siemens Healthineers and Siemens Caring Hands added to this sum twice over. The result: a new MRI scanner for the Diospi Suyana hospital.
The lecture about Diospi Suyana is over. Most of the participants are employees of the university clinic. It was probably curiosity that lured them away from their desks for an hour. Down at the table are Dr. David Grodzki, Dr. Stephan Biber and Prof. Dr. Michael Uder. Their historical contribution has long since been recorded for posterity in the books in front of them.
Why do generosity, lifeblood and providence play such an important role at Diospi Suyana? Missionary doctor Dr. Klaus John referred to the benevolent hand of God in his lecture. He must know, because he and his wife Martina were there from the very beginning. (The photo above was taken on June 4 at around 5:30 p.m.)
