In an old church in Mötzingen, Dr. John explores the question of whether the Holy Spirit actually exists
If only 4% of people still attend a church service on Sunday and several groups in society are even calling for Pentecost Monday to be abolished, then we could start packing our bags. Who among us was at the Pentecost festival in Jerusalem 2000 years ago? Nobody. And who knows what really happened back then? Let’s get specific. Has anyone seen the “Holy Spirit” yet? – No, nobody. So let’s be honest and end the fairytale lesson…
Images fly across the screen at the front. It is a matter of two or three minutes and the 100 people attending the service are suddenly completely electrified. Out of nothing, a work of faith is created before their eyes through the power of the Holy Spirit. Hospital, school, radio channel in southern Peru, festivals with thousands of young people and millions of clicks on social media. It’s about fear and hope, despair and prayer. In the end, there are celebrations because the God of old is acting for real and making world history.
On Whitsun Day in Mötzingen, a stone’s throw from Tübingen. Unforgettable minutes for all those who were there. Oh yes, 1,529 euros were collected in book donations and Sunday collections. The Holy Spirit made it possible. At the end, no one should have doubted the reality of this invisible power. /(Click on the picture above and you can scroll through the whole service).
