The Rosewood Tree

The ornamental plant Jacaranda is native to South America

A day full of worries and adversities.  Two steps forward, one step back.  Or is it the other way round, I cannot tell.  An ill patient in the intensive care unit.  An emotional rollercoaster between hope and fear, bottlenecks and insecurities.  The eyes are looking downwards.

At lunchtime I am walking speedily up the mountain heading home when I suddenly see a blue tree, wonderful to look at.  Blue is the colour of hope and my gaze wanders via the tree into the sky.

In the last few days many missionaries were part of a 24-hour prayer chain.  Our hope is in God who holds everything in his hands.  Three days ago, late at night in one of the hospital corridors, two Quechua-women were kneeling on the floor praying and weeping: a moving scene.  He, who has made heaven and earth, the maker of this Jacaranda-Tree, sees and knows both you and me. /KDJ
