Hundreds were there and joined the celebrations
To celebrate the “Month of the Child” Gladys Illescas de Hurtado and her friends organised a children’s festival at which the spark of enthusiasm leapt from the stage into the audience’s hearts. No one of the children or parents present would have regretted coming to Amphitheatre located outside the city gates. The two-and-a-half hour programme simply flew by.
The Wasi Chay-Ensemble (the Quechua word for “a small hut”) arranged and choreographed the spectacle. Jorge, Janet and Luis, three teachers from the Diospi Suyana School, had compiled the programme with their pupils over the past few weeks. The clowns were hilarious and the dance-formations impressive.
On the above picture we can see teachers Pilar and Jon Freese as top-class entertainers; one simply had to laugh with them.
A fantastic show with a deep content. It was made clear that faith in God is an exciting thing. The event ended with a surprise going-home-bag for everyone. Those who were there yesterday will be back next year without a doubt. A dankeschön to all staff and a special thank you to Gladys who once again showed of what she is made of. And, as mentioned already, the three cool guys from Wasi Chay were a great success.
