No hot steam, but reliable help
The missionary hospital was still under construction when the boss of Ascobloc Gastro-Gerätebau GmbH in Dresden heard about Diospi Suyana. When Dr. John and a certain Michael Mörl knocked on his door in September 2006, the entrepreneur let them into his office but did not make a personal statement. He remained silent and promised nothing.
The quality kitchen at Diospi Suyana Hospital has certainly already cooked over a million meals – for patients and staff alike. The new appliances were donated to Peru. The generous man in the background was Johannes Wilhelm. When time was running out, he packed everything that was good and expensive onto pallets and sent the freight for container shipment.
A few years went by. Civil engineer Udo Klemenz and his team were building at the Diospi Suyana School. The school kitchen was on the agenda and once again John and Mörl were approached in Dresden. It was all about a tiny little power presentation as an update. Oh yes, the school kitchen units were still missing. Johannes Wilhelm remained true to his character. He refrained from making any comments and wished the small Diospi Suyana delegation a pleasant onward journey.
It was one of Michael Mörl’s many merits that he kept the topic of Diospi Suyana on the agenda through countless phone calls and personal visits to Ascobloc. The result: a school kitchen with new appliances, tailored to the spatial requirements with a pleasant appearance.
At some point the taciturn but enterprising company boss sent a new oven to Curahuasi to keep the bread and roll production at Diospi Suyana running.
Yesterday he and his secretary saw how the breathtaking development at Diospi Suyana had continued over the past 10 years. He didn’t actually say anything, but he silently examined the wish list that Tobias Lächele from Peru had put together for the installation of a kitchen in the recreation center. And now we are all very excited again. The future will tell. /KDJ
