But the rubble also stands for progress
For twelve years, the various city councils have promised us that our road would also be concreted. Now, on July 1, some workers tore up the surface. Seven weeks have passed. The picture above shows the current state of the road.
The project is being funded by the state government (not the town hall). It would be too nice if we could put the finished road – as a Christmas present, so to speak – on the gift table. A lot should happen in four months. Provided the money for the project doesn’t disappear never to be seen again. Such a mishap would be nothing special in the Peruvian mountains. /KDJ
