Successful participation in the District Olympics

Blessing of medals for athletes from the Diospi Suyana School

The senior classes from eleven schools took part in the Curahuasi District Olympics last week. After a ceremonial opening of the games in the central square (Plaza de Armas), most of the competitions took place in the station and in the town’s large sports hall. At the Colegio Diospi Suyana the competitions were held in the disciplines of high jump, long jump, chess and table tennis.

From our school’s point of view, the three-day sporting event was extremely successful. Thanks to our teachers, led by directors Matthias Rehder, Jonatahn Rosenkranz and Nicolás Sierra Huarcaya, who prepared our students perfectly for the event. (Photos: Jonathan Rosenkranz)
