With it versus without it
Motorbikes are all over the streets of Curahuasi. Unfortunately hardly any of the (normally male) drivers wear a helmet. Peruvian Law says that helmets must be worn, but what use is a law that even the police do not adhere to? In any case most of the drivers believe that they do not need to wear a helmet.
On Tuesday night the ultimate motorbike helmet test took place on the streets of Curahuasi: two motorbikes crashed into each other with a slam. Driver A wore a helmet, Driver B did not.
The test’s result is very insightful: nothing happened to Driver A bar a few scratches; helmetless Driver B had multiple facial fractures.
