It was thanks to Doris Manco, the head of our media center. It took probably 100 emails, WhatsApps and phone calls to managers somewhere in the south of the USA. Her persistence paid off. Then, two hours ago, a meeting with Sarai Rivera, her family and Nellyris Negron, the band’s drummer.
The story of Diospi Suyana told once again and a personal invitation to the singer among witnesses. Strictly speaking, her ancestors come from Mexico and Puerto Rico. But at the 2026 festival she will be the official band from the USA. Her expressive voice is unique. Her lyrics have depth and the melodies go straight to the heart.
