With conference speaker Stevan Bartel from Colombia
It is already a firm tradition. Towards the end of the year, Diospi Suyana’s volunteers spend a weekend in the sacred valley of the Incas. This year Pastor Stevan Bartel motivated them with interesting lectures on the topic of “The inner man”, which focused on uncompromising Christian discipleship.
On Saturday afternoon, there were various workshops in which all age groups took part.
Stevan Bartel and his wife have been caring for street children in Bogota for over 30 years. On Sunday, he told of a phone call from the Farc terrorist group, who wanted to extort USD 25,000 from him. Instead of giving in to the guerrillas’ pressure, the whole family prayed at home for God’s protection. The terrorists did not carry out the announced kidnapping. For the Bartels and their work, this experience was a real tightrope act. The three days were filled with laughter, singing, talking and praying.
On Monday, the daily work begins again for everyone. But then with renewed strength and motivation /KDJ
