Diospi-Suyana School Wins Math Olympiad Among 11 Schools
Strictly speaking, Albert Einstein was a physicist. But no one would want to question the great scientist’s mathematical abilities. The Ulm native would probably have smiled with satisfaction at the results of the math competition in Curahuasi.
Eleven schools competed against each other with their six lower-grade classes. That means there were twelve first- and second-place finishes. Under the proportional representation system, any school could have claimed one of these spots. And now for the good news: Diospi Suyana won five of these coveted spots! This put our school at the very top of the podium.
Why are there actually seven students in the photo above, and not five? There were also two fourth-place finishes and one fifth-place finish for representatives from our school. All in all, it was a successful showing.
We congratulate our faculty, led by Principal Jonathan Rosenkranz (see photo) and Lower School Coordinator Nicoll Milagros Pariona, on this outstanding achievement. We are proud of the academic achievements of our school. /KDJ
