On Saturday
Twenty years ago, there were only a few empty fields here. The Diospi Suyana Hospital has changed everything. The buildings in the foreground are guesthouses for patients and their families who are waiting. The amphitheater under the white tent roof on the left can actually hold 5,000 visitors. Next to it, the observer can see the three-story media center. Ten employees, led by Doris Manco, broadcast our radio programs via satellite to the southern part of the country. The hospital itself has recorded 635,000 patient visits to date. Quite a few consider it the most modern traditional mission hospital in the world.

The executive director of our festival division is looking at the posters from the first four festivals. Preparations for the fifth major event have been underway for quite some time. Which band should we definitely invite back for a second time? Karina Pereyra knows the music scene like no one else. She’s already put together her wish list.

The amphitheater stands empty and silent. By the end of April 2027, we plan to fill it to capacity. The round number is 5,000. But even before that—on August 30—the children’s clubs will present a Christian musical about the life of Daniel here.

Ten children’s clubs meet every week. One of these groups is gathering in front of the media center. It’s a colorful group of children of various ages. Today there are only 28 children. The older ones are probably at school practicing marching for the big parade on July 28.

The club program is packed with creativity. It includes skits, crafts, sports, songs, and a Bible story. The children will remember these sessions even when they’re older.

Our ten clubs operate solely thanks to the volunteer efforts of about 40 volunteers. Peruvians and missionaries work side by side.

Saturday is just around the corner. It’s been another busy week. None of the Diospi Suyana staff had to ask themselves what it’s all for. Diospi Suyana is a blessing to hundreds of thousands of people. Everyone who works in one of the six areas of ministry knows that our goal is to serve others and honor God.

The Trinity group is putting on a free concert in the central square. The atmosphere is electric. The Christians from the Netherlands are conveying an important truth: Faith brings an overflowing joy of life.
