Let us look over our garden fence
Despite all the frustrations about the slow vaccine campaign in Europe one should not lose sight of the worldwide panorama. Many countries still have no vaccines whatsoever. So far 1.6% of the Peruvian population have received at least one dose, while less than 1% (0.78%) enjoy better vaccine protection since they have had two jabs.
Since we live in the famous global village, billions of people need to be vaccinated on all continents! Otherwise in future variants will continue flowing between the countries. It is simply wrong to believe that the Germans or US-Americans will be safe, once their country has reached the level of herd immunity.
