Black Forest Medical Group supports our neurosurgery department

Neurosurgeon Andreas Warkentin has written a brief report on the subject

The first neurosurgical instrument for Diospi Suyana was presented yesterday by the Black Forest Medical Group. Diospi Suyana extends its heartfelt thanks to the Black Forest Medical Group, and especially to Ms. Marina Coelho Monteiro, for this generous donation.

The device is a head-holding system called DORO®, which is used to rigidly immobilize the head during surgery on the brain or the upper cervical spine. The system prevents any movement of the head during the procedure, thereby enabling precision work accurate to the millimeter. Any unexpected movement or slippage of the head during surgery can have catastrophic consequences and, in the worst case, be fatal. Therefore, the value of a secure positioning system is obvious. With Black Forest Medical’s system, we not only have a high-quality solution, but also a product from a market leader we can rely on.

However, a firm foundation is important not only in neurosurgery, but also in life. Who can we rely on? Who provides us with unwavering support when life is shaken and doesn’t go according to plan? What ideology, culture, people, faith, or God can we truly rely on?

Many have come and gone. But the Bible points to a God who has been fulfilling his promise of a secure foundation for thousands of years. Isaiah 41:10 says:

“Do not be afraid, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

The Bible is full of accounts of people who have confirmed this. The Diospi Suyana Hospital is another recent example of this.
