…to the chicanery of the bureaucracy
At my last count, there are over ten hot spots that could severely impact Diospi Suyana depending on the outcome. Some of these issues even rob me of my sleep at night.
Last Wednesday in Lima, I met the head of a Peruvian agency. After my presentation, I complained about the arbitrariness and indifference of officials in the capital. The state would repeatedly put a good work like Diospi Suyana in great danger through unjust and senseless decisions. I made it clear that I was tired of the eternal fights with the administrative apparatus.
The superintendent kindly escorted me to the exit. Then he took me in his arms and said, “Dr. John, stay very still and read 1 Corinthians 10:31!” I must admit that in 20 long years of dealing with authorities in Lima, nothing like this has ever happened to me.
But what is actually written there? “Everything you do, do it for God (or for His glory)!” No matter how arduous our lives may be, as long as we work for the cause of Heaven, every effort is worthwhile. God knows and He sees. /KDJ
