Just 23 months have passed since the end of July 2021. In this short period of time, 106 ministers or ministeresses were appointed in Peru. A cabinet currently consists of the prime minister and another 18 department heads. If we divide 106 by 19, we get the number 5.5. In plain language, therefore, an average of five to six complete cabinets were sworn in. “RPP” called this phenomenon of rapid changes the new national popular sport.
Since the inauguration of Dina Boluarte as president a good six months ago, the political situation has stabilized somewhat. Most Peruvians hope it will stay that way.
