The Colegio Diospi Suyana

Under the management of engineer Udo Klemenz, we are currently building a school designed to provide up to 500 student with an education. The school will feature a multipurpose room (gym) and a science center, which will include rooms for physics, chemistry classes as well as music and manual training. In addition the school will have a computer center, a library and, on the ground floor, an industrial kitchen and cafeteria for the students.

The school campus will house 18 additional class rooms, a large preschool, an administrative building, parking, two schoolyards, a school garden as well as a small athletic field. Projected costs: Euro 3 million ($ 3.8 million).

A few teachers from both Germany and the USA have shown interest in joining the school on a long-term basis. And, we are hoping to find additional qualified teaching staff in Peru and other South American countries.

So far, we have received donations amounting to $700.000, including the following:

– Designs and plans by the firm Linder Bauidee

– Structural plans by the engineering company Engel

– Construction management by engineer Udo Klemenz

– Form systems by the PERI company

– Construction materials by Max Frank GmbH & Co. KG

– A large donation by the German foundation "Ein Herz für Kinder" (A Heart for Children)

– A construction license by the Curahuasi city administration

There is a chance that the school might be open for a few classes as early March 2014. We are closely working with the Colegio Johannes Gutenberg in Lima, that has been helping and teaching underpriviliged children for over 40 years. As with the hospital, dental clinic and the children’s house, the school is also being build without incurring debt or applying for credits. Diospi Suyana only spends as much money as has been previously raised.

This Christian-based education center in the highlands of Peru would be another dream come true for Dr. Klaus and Dr. Martina John. Please support us by praying with us that God may bless the project and protect the workers during the construction phase.
