The donation receipts have been sent out
What Karin Straßheim and a few active helpers did over the past few days was truly an impressive feat. All donors of 2021 have now been sent their donation receipts for the Tax Office. We are extremely grateful that the past twelve months have bestowed a record amount of donations upon Diospi Suyana.
We received 16,766 individual donations from Europe, USA and Peru – a new record – with a total amount of €2,469,067 (USD2,715,973). These figures do not include donations in kind of which we received many.
The donations were used in the areas of our Hospital, Colegio, Media Centre and Children’s Clubs. We esteem the trust of our supporters as a call to conscientiously carry out our mission working for the poor population of Southern Peru.
Every year an independent auditing institute analyses our cash position. The total administration costs were only 5%: a dream result!
Since the founding of the organisation in 2002 we at Diospi Suyana have noticed something remarkable: the money was employed with so much lifeblood and effectivity that the value of the infrastructure and the services provided far exceeded the real value of the donations. We explain this mystery with God’s blessing. Visitors from the whole world, journalists and TV-teams were able to convince themselves of this fact in Curahuasi. At Diospi Suyana the word “sustainability” has got a new meaning. We look back and thank God the giver of all good gifts and we say “Gracias” to all friends who faithfully support our work. /KDJ
