Of course “The Heavenly” pralines made by German chocolatier Leysieffer

Martina Hermann’s creative idea

I arrive at the Evangelical Lutheran St. Paul Church in Osnabruck, Germany at the last minute.  An accident on the A45 motorway, a downpour on the A1, and a detour through the city took me a lot of time.  With the first pictures being projected on the wall, however, the stress of the trip is soon forgotten.  Eighty listeners from Osnabrück and the surrounding area are spellbound as they listen to the presentation.  Diospi Suyana is known in this community because our gynaecologist, Dr. Jens Hassfeld, was a member of this church for many years.

Martina Hermanns Osnabrück
Martina Hermann offers an interesting interpretation of the gift.

The fact that all seats are taken up this evening, despite the FIFA World Cup, is to be credited to the verger’s wife, Martina Hermann. She actively advertised the presentation and, as she says, checks the Diospi Suyana web site every morning. That is why Martina is well aware of what is going on at the hospital.

After the last picture has been shown and the last question asked, Martina takes a moment to announce that there is a small gift of chocolates waiting for those in attendance.  This is what she says:

“Everyone in Osnabrück associates “The Heavenly” chocolate brand with Leysieffer, the chocolate manufacturer. Inevitably, when the name Leysieffer comes up, everyone thinks of “The Heavenly.”  It is, therefore, my hope that you might associate Diospi Suyana with “trusting in God”, and when people talk about trusting in God, you think of Diospi Suyana.”
