Difficult months

Despite many employees

Big changes are taking place in several units at Diospi Suyana Hospital.  Although most areas are well covered by our team of 50 missionaries and 110 Peruvian staff, we are still looking to fill some key positions.

Workshops:  With the departure of Michael Friedemann and his family scheduled the wood and metal workshops will be understaffed.

Administration:  Administrative Director Stefan Seiler will begin his furlough in July.  Marion Hofmann will then have to shoulder am increased workload.  However, for a few months she will be assisted by Katrin Thomas.  Our administration also needs urgent support in the area of bookkeeping.

Computer Department:  Christian Oswald will soon be finished with his three years here at the hospital.  The computer department will be understaffed as he leaves.

Construction: Civil engineer Johannes Bahr is faced with major challenges in completing the school’s building works.  After Udo Klemenz’ departure yesterday all jobs require restructuring.

Ophthalmology:  We are urgently looking for a nurse in specializing in this field.

Anesthesia:  Currently, we are contracting with Peruvian anesthesiologists for our anesthesia needs, but they are usually only available for a few days or weeks at a time.  We eagerly await the arrival of Dr. Susan Dressler who will be joining us, along with her husband Daniel, when they finish language school in Arequipa.  However, one anesthesiologist is not sufficient; the hospital desperately needs a second full-time employee.

Laboratory:  We would be very grateful for an MTA who might help us in the lab for three or more years.

Colegio Diospi Suyana:  There is a need for more missionary teachers who would be willing to work long term.  A proficient level of Spanish is required.  We are particularly looking for an English teacher.
