Peru one week before the presidential election
A few hours ago, the last exchange of blows between the two candidates for the office of president ended on television. Keiko Fujimori advocates conservative policies and is committed to a free market economy. Her opponent Roberto Sanchez wants to change Peruvian society in the direction of a socialist model.
All polling institutes have predicted a narrow victory for Fujimori. Next Sunday, all Peruvians at home and abroad are called to cast their votes. We believe that the outcome will also have an impact on Diospi Suyana’s work in Curahuasi. Regardless of which of the two will move into the palace on July 28th, we as Christians know that God always has the last word. Therefore we can wait for the final result with a certain serenity. /KDJ
