Two unforgettable hours
Yesterday morning six local churches came together for an Easter service in the gymnasium of the Diospi Suyana School. Around 500 participants filled the chairs and bleachers. Almost all of the program focused on the crucifixion and resurrection of Christ.
Then eight Roman soldiers in brilliant uniforms marched in. Many in the audience felt transported back to the 1st century of Palestine.

The linguist Brendan Connally held the sermon in Quechua and Spanish. As an expression of mutual service, 14 volunteers washed the feet of an equal number of participants.

Overall, the event helped to promote the coexistence of Christians in Curahuasi. Adults and young people from almost all churches spoke, gave a skit, or shared musical contributions for the service. We hope that many services of this kind will follow.
