Inspecting our aerial tower in Puno

An Australian, a Dutchman and a Peruvian at an altitude of 4,000 m

This week Doris Manco, the head of our Media Centre, accompanied by Chris Welch and Oebele de Haan journeyed to the South-Peruvian city of Puno. An outside firm had completed the work on the antenna for Diospi Suyana. The team of three was impressed by the quality of the tower and the foundations. The measurements taken proved a functioning protection against lightning.

The next step will be installing the electricity connection. The aerials and transmitters are waiting to be moved from the hospital grounds in Curahuasi to Lake Titicaca.

Roughly 0.2mio people will be able to listen to Diospi Suyana’s radio programme transmitted from this tower in future.
