In Skypark in the City of Glasgow

Skypark

Telling the story three times

Its cloudy and rainy on Friday.  Typical Scotland as one might imagine.  I ride the elevator to the third floor of the Skypark building and get ready to unpack my laptop to give a short presentation.  The large newspaper “Sunday Post” aims to write an article about our story.  The journalist looks with intent eyes at the small computer screen.  “Fascinating! Just right for our readers.  We try to reserve two sides to the story!”  The Scot is delighted.  Our one-hour meeting ends with a brief exchange of words.  “The social injustice in some south American countries cries to heaven!” I say.  “If I was not a Christian, I may have become a revolutionary with a gun in my hand!”  The press man nods as he shows his understanding.  We shake hands and I’m back to the drizzle of Glasgow.

Now I head to a radio studio in Cumbernauld.  They let me know that 70% of Scots live within the range of their transmitter.  This is of course great news.  After introductions and the majority of the interview, the moderator turns to the invisible audience and says, “Dear listeners, if you were sitting in my studio, you could see that the eyes of Dr. John sparkle when he talks of this hospital!”

My third appointment of the day is with a pastor of a large church.  He hears for the first time about the “hospital of faith. “Unbelievable, amazing!” exclaims the pastor.  “The next time you come you need to speak to our community.  We’ll advertise well and make sure the church is full!”
