Private charity events for Diospi Suyana – an overview

Through the research done by our home office we have quite a good overview of the recent fundraisers organised by the supporters of Diospi Suyana. Conservative estimates put the number of events that have supported our work in Peru at roughly 1,500 since 2004. Therein 140 fundraising dinners at Family Böttger’s house near Berlin and countless granola sales by Christine Fleck. Put plainly this means that every day of the past 15 years an average of four private sponsorship events for Diospi Suyana were held.

The list of ideas that children and grown-ups have come up with in order to financially support Diospi Suyana is long. To name just a few: organ concerts, Easter markets, Christmas bazaars, film evenings, prize draws, barrel organ music, birthday parties, weddings, donations rather than wreathes at funerals, cake stalls, ringing church bells, sponsored cycles round the world, charity runs, selling stamps, golf competitions, selling dental gold, charity dinners, selling jewelry, recycling paper, etc.…

We estimate than 230 companies have contributed 25% of Diospi Suyana’s total donation amount; these were mostly donations in kind. 1,000 regular donors, who make monthly contributions, make up the lion’s share. They have contributed in making Diospi Suyana well-known and have raised enormous funds for our missionary organisation.

We cordially thank these faithful friends. Nearly every day visitors come to take a look at our facilities in Curahuasi and see with their own eyes what their donations have made possible (picture above from the charity run organised by the Catholic Mauritiusschool in Bachen).
