A feeling of gratitude in a full house
Celebrating a birthday is always special. You remember that you were born and rejoice that God has given you another year of life on this earth. Particularly celebrated are usually round birthdays, but also those that come after particularly difficult times. Times in which it was once again made clear to us that a free and carefree life is not as self-evident as we often think. The Diospi Suyana School has had two difficult years. In 2019, first the corona-related school closure, then the gradual reopening via virtual teaching, hybrid teaching and finally face-to-face teaching, which we have only been allowed to offer again since the beginning of 2022. God has carried us through these difficult times and blessed us in many ways. This is another reason why this year’s 8th school birthday was something very special and was celebrated accordingly.

500 students and parents followed a colorful program in our gymnasium, which was converted into an event space. Once again, about 800 visitors watched the celebration live on social media. Dances, songs and plays delighted the audience. The evening was rounded off with a “Refrigerio” (sandwich and juice) and a concert by the school band. We are grateful for eight successful years. During this period, the number of students and teachers has more than doubled. We look back and say thank you to God and look to the future with firm trust in God! /MR
