Changing doctors’ working groups, but the goal stays the same
A photo taken immediately after the daily morning meeting. Staff hailing from Germany, Holland, a young lady with a French background, several Peruvians and one Bolivian doctor. Dr Jonathan Yoder (centre) spent three months working at the missionary hospital in an honorary capacity. Meanwhile he has returned to Alabama. Vera Garçon stands next to him. The medical student has left Curahuasi and plans to work as a missionary doctor at Diospi Suyana after completing her specialist training.
One works together. Faith quickly welds one together and one stands up for one another. Practised charity not as a cheap catchphrase, but as at night with heavy eyes, especially then, when one would much rather be snuggled up in bed.
This photo was taken a few days ago. It would be impossible to have exactly the same persons standing together for a second photo. These 15 persons met for a moment in time. But the day is coming when the eternal fluctuation will cease and we will be celebrating together at the table of brotherhood, without departure, tears, suffering or death.
In a world full of bad news Christians are those who have a hope. /KDJ
