2025 – Rapid growth of a work of faith

September to December

The flagship of our mission is the Diospi Suyana Hospital. Patients are treated day and night. Depending on the availability of medical staff, our team can treat up to 200 patients a day. Of course, emergencies always have access. In the emergency room, operating theaters and wards, every human life is at stake. Although the Diospi Suyana Hospital has only been in existence for 18 years, it already enjoys a legendary reputation among the local population.

At the beginning of September 2025, an external company opened another construction site. A two-storey guest house will be built behind the hospital by March 2026.

A crew of 30 workers is driving the project forward. So far, progress is on schedule. The final result will be quite similar to the following picture. The building will accommodate up to 30 overnight guests. The dining room is located on the second floor behind the central balcony.

A good idea that is currently being implemented in record time.
A 24-hour vigilia (prayer time). Radio frequencies in several countries took part in this initiative.

From September 19 to 20, our media center once again carried out a “Vigilia”. 72 radio stations from Peru, Guatemala, Mexico, Venezuela and Brazil took part in this prayer initiative. Over 200 listeners called in and spoke to pastors about their personal concerns. Even the inhabitants of North Lima listened to the program via the FM 105.1 frequency. A number of pastors and Dr. Martina John spoke live about the power of prayer. Several teams moderated around the clock. Diospi Suyana Radio responds to the needs of the people. Our prayers are neither a compulsory exercise nor an autosuggestive power of positive thinking. As the name Diospi Suyana says, we simply trust in God.

Patient no. 600,000 in a red jacket. She is standing next to her son, who is carrying a large gift basket.

September 24, 2025 marks another milestone in the history of our facility. The computer system identified a woman from the Aymara people as the 600,000th visitor to the hospital. The mother of two children had left her village in the state of Puno the previous day and traveled a good ten hours to Curahuasi. She did not come alone, but accompanied by her son and his father-in-law.

At the end of the service, Dr. Klaus John said: “Yuspagára Kulláka!” (Congratulations sister). The happy patient received a gift basket full of surprises. All the day’s services were also provided at the hospital’s expense. By the end of the year, a further 10,000 patient visits had been made.

September 24: Five volunteers loaded our 85th container in Mörfelden Walldorf.

It was hard work and the sweat was pouring. But the five guys with the determined look came to the warehouse to complete a mission. The braves around Olaf Böttger were called Jonathan, Peter, Jakob and Landula. Men for the rough stuff, all equipped with an iron will. The valuable six-figure cargo has long since been unloaded in Curahuasi. The French shipping company CMA has been sponsoring our sea transports for several years. Container transport no. 87 is planned for the first half of January.

October 1: Dr. Klaus John tells the story of Diospi Suyana from his perspective on the internet portal “Königskinder”.

In 27 minutes the essentials have been said. Without faith in God, Diospi Suyana would only exist in the imagination. Click on the picture to watch the video.

A reservoir for the water supply of the Christian meeting place and for the participants of the festivals

It was a long and thorny road with the authorities! In the first week of October Diospi Suyana finally received a very important lifetime license. Sufficient water can be pumped daily from the nearby springs below the campsites for the recreation center and the festivals. When we received the official and unlimited license, we breathed a sigh of relief.

October 29. Our new computer tomograph, a 64-line scanner, goes into operation.

January 14, 2025, we are sitting together in a lonely home in southern Germany. What I see a warm cup of tea, goes beyond the scope of the Normal. “We are currently building a house for our family”, the young man (J.W.) explains to me, “Of course we could install luxurious bathrooms and the Put money into a nicer kitchen. But we deliberately do not want to do this. That is why We would like to support a special project. My wife and I are thinking of X amount!” This amount from the two committed Christians covered the purchase price for our new CT. It should not go unmentioned that Siemens reduced the price to less than a third.

On November 23rd in the Calvary Chapel Siegen.

Presentations are the backbone of our public relations work. To date, Dr. John has given over 3,500 presentations in 29 countries. He does not ask for donations in churches, clubs and schools, but focuses on the aspect of faith.

On Saturday, December 13, a team led by Dr. Lukas Steffen visited the city prison of Abancay. Over 400 prisoners learned what the Christmas story has to do with them.

Eleven days before Christmas, a team of 12 people visited the city prison in Abancay. General surgeon Dr. Lukas Steffen spoke about the love of God and that personal change is possible. In the yard, 430 men and 21 women listened to this message. When the Swiss asked who would like to entrust their lives to God, 150 prisoners flocked to the front.

At the end of the event, there were Christmas cakes, Christian literature, notebooks and warm socks for the audience. The team also handed out kits with hygiene products.

December 19: School furniture is unloaded and then stored on the premises of the Diospi Suyana School.

Only one branch of our mission was happy about container number 86: the Diospi Suyana School.
All the furniture for the new buildings is already lined up in a storage room in our Colegio. Thankfully, the entire freight was paid for by a building contractor from southern Germany who does not wish to be named.

Looking ahead. Preparations for the 4th festival are in full swing. The logo of “Luz en los Andes” (Light in the Andes)

The fourth festival is just around the corner. We are expecting up to 5,000 young people from all parts of Peru and abroad to celebrate five days of joy. The title “Luz en los Andes” (Light in the Andes) refers to one of Christ’s most striking statements: “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will no longer wander in darkness. Rather, he will have the light of life!” (John 8:12)

The school building site at the end of December.

In January, a subcontractor will install the roofs of the two school buildings. There is no time pressure, as commissioning is not scheduled until March 2027.

Yesterday afternoon, a truck brought steel profiles for the new roof of the amphitheater.

A highly motivated team from Malla Flores is currently working on the new roof construction of the amphitheater. Safety is a top priority in this project.

End of December: The future amphitheater in the computer simulation. The rear stands can accommodate 5,000 visitors. A significantly reinforced roof will also guarantee additional safety.
Flores promises to complete the project by the fourth festival.
The Christian meeting place is finished except for the kitchen, the sanitary facilities and the furniture.

The meeting place, which we also call the leisure center, can be opened in summer 2026. Tobias and Marielene Lächele will manage our sixth work area. – If you can make contact with the owners of furniture companies, please contact us by e-mail: info@diospi-suyana.org

December 18, 2003: Dr. Martina John with her children Natalie and Dominik in the ruins of a mud house. Little Florian was probably playing downstairs in the house. Klaus John worked as a photographer.

During Advent 2003, the Johns were the only white family in the small mountain village of Curahuasi. Dirt roads, mud houses, no internet, hardly any cars on the roads. Extreme poverty. In human terms, their dream of a high-tech hospital was pure fantasy. When the Johns began talking about their project in January 2004, in the midst of a severe economic crisis, it seemed completely out of touch to many listeners.

22 years later. Looking back, we can all only marvel. God created something that no one had thought possible in this form.

In 2025, Diospi Suyana set an enormous donation record. Four extensive building projects are currently being driven forward. Money and walls are fleeting. But what God has done in the history of our work will always remain. When we humans trust HIM and sincerely want to fulfill God’s will, the Almighty moves mountains. He has never let us down. /KDJ
