The progress of the last week
Dear Diospi Suyana friends, I am happy and grateful that on Tuesday and Wednesday we were able to pour the first construction phase of the upper floor slab including the continuous balconies on both sides. Around 40m³ of concrete was mixed on the ground in the old familiar manner, hoisted upwards using an old-fashioned winch with a petrol engine and moved and installed on the ceiling using wheelbarrows. However, the winch held up well and ran smoothly on both days.
Shuttering the balcony on the valley side was time-consuming and not entirely safe due to its height. As already reported, the construction of an intermediate platform was necessary.
On the first floor, plastering continued this week, depending on available manpower, and the brackets for the rising columns were bent.
