Medical village outreach in Llañucancha

The first since 2019

On Saturday morning at around 7 a.m., 60 Diospi Suyana employees set out from the hospital. The drive through the mountains to the village community of llañucancha took an hour and a half. Some rooms of the local school served as a makeshift clinic.

Over 200 patients were treated. The range of specialties included general medicine, pediatrics, ophthalmology, dentistry, gynecology, urology, physical therapy, ultrasound, psychology and orthopedic technology.

At the beginning, the Peruvian pastor Marco Acuña held a devotion. Dr. Jens Haßfeld thanked for the good cooperation with the village, which had provided a plot of land for the construction of an antenna tower by Diospi Suyana.

After the farewell photo at 5:15 p.m., the team headed back to Curahuasi. The volunteer effort lasted ten hours, including the trip home. Praise and appreciation to all involved who invested a full day of their weekend to help people in need.
