Now the missionary team includes 50 volunteers
Dr. Benjamin Zeier shows intensive care nurse Jonas Vokuhl the equipment in our intensive care unit. A friend of his drew the attention of the Lübeck native to Diospi Suyana years ago. Now he is here and ready to work for three years. The 42-year-old learned Spanish during a social year in Paraguay.
When Jonas Vokuhl traveled to Peru last year to see the mission hospital, a nice encounter took place. He was sitting in the Airbus waiting for his onward flight from Lima to Cusco. At “random” a man took a seat next to him: German accent, black laptop bag, 1.8o tall and a bit stressed. Dr. Klaus John, of course! There are things that simply do not exist.
Vokuhl has brought quite a bit of professional experience to the table. He carries the desire to help in his heart. And in a sense, he has a family bias for his service. His brother Tobias was involved in a project in Nepal years ago. Welcome to Curahuasi, Peru.
