A very sad situation
How can one resist the temptations of money? The president of the Supreme Court of Apurimac apparently failed to meet this moral obligation. According to the available evidence, Judge Jose Tinco Luján and his wife, Elionora Yntusca Janampa, are the leaders of a criminal organization. As is customary in Peru, the scandal has already been given a name. In the media, this mafia-like structure is referred to as “The Black Ties.”
What the country lacks are role models with integrity—people who are willing to make great sacrifices for their convictions. We need leaders who can serve as true role models for 34 million people.
We hope and pray that, in this corrupt environment, Diospi Suyana will always serve as an example of faith in action and true self-sacrifice. For the dangers posed by “money, sex, and power” lurk everywhere. /KDJ
