Dr. Nikolaus von Abendroth breaks into verse
The quote from Hermann Hesse’s, “Every beginning holds its own magic”, perfectly captured the moment in the Dental Clinic on Friday. It all started with a patient suffering from a very loose mandibular prosthesis.
With the help of the American specialists Dr Scott Bedichek and his assistant we were able to implant the first teeth at the missionary hospital. After a three month healing-phase the patient’s prosthesis will be fastened to this fixing.
Being able to treat patients in this way is an excellent enrichment for our patients. At this juncture we cordially thank the company Dentsply Sirona Implants for generously donating the entire equipment needed for such a procedure.
From now on we can provide the local Quechua population with dental implants.
