Diospi Suyana’s men’s group stands up for a lonely model of success

Marriage – dad, mom, child

“La Tribu” (the tribe) is the name for an active men’s work led by Christian Haupt, Dr. Thomas Tielmann and Don Fausto. On Thursday evening, 80 men accepted an invitation to an entertaining evening at the movies. The movie Fireproof tells the story of a young married couple who are about to throw in the towel in their relationship.

Even if some people think that marriage is no longer in keeping with the times, it has been the recipe for success for thousands of years. It is how mankind has survived. Dad and mom form a refuge that provides security and love. The family with the two figures of identification – male and female – offers children the best conditions for a successful start in life.

This plan of God is already referred to on the first pages of the book of books. “He created them male and female (Genesis 1:27). Anyone who deviates from this ingenious concept will sooner or later have to pay for the negative consequences. Loneliness, disorientation and insecurity spread where marriage is ridiculed and despised.

A few days ago, there were calls from the German Social Democratic Party to abolish the splitting of marriage tax (tax benefits for married couples), as this role model is long outdated. Anyone who calls for such a thing is digging a society’s grave in the long term. The black population in the USA can serve as an example. 64% of black children live in households with only one parent. The crime rate and drug abuse are correspondingly high. African-Americans have a higher rate of imprisonment and murder in the USA than other population groups.

Are we perhaps the last to have failed to understand the signs of the times? On January 13, 2013, around half a million people demonstrated in Paris in support of traditional marriage. No one had expected such a mass turnout. It is time for us all to raise our voices. In a pluralistic society, everyone can and should be able to express their opinion freely. We Christians also want to exercise this right. It is worth fighting for your convictions.

Anyone who wears a wedding ring on their finger knows that marriage is not easy. But the dream of Hollywood films shows how much we humans long for such a partnership. Dad, mom, child – that’s what it says. We should hold on to that. /KDJ

Interview with a young husband dressed as a fireman. Don Ricardo tells how he and his wife overcame the first crises.
The movie Fireproof is exciting and conveys a good message. It is worth fighting to preserve a marriage – with God’s help.
