Dear friends, the two large building sites are progressing “step by step” and within 2 weeks we can see clear progress on the shell. We also have a steady stream of animal visitors on the building site: goats, horses, cows, pigs and chickens. No, we didn’t decide to build a farm, but here in the Andes, animals simply roam free.
We are slowly starting to feel the first signs of the rainy season: strong winds during the day and the odd thunderstorm. But the ground is not yet soaked and does not restrict construction work.
Colegio: The masonry work and the shuttering of the beams above the windows on the upper floor of building A are in full swing. Two columns are still to be concreted on the upper floor. The ceiling above the ground floor has almost been stripped and is being erected in building B. This work is much more time-consuming than expected.
The first part of the elevator in Building B has been concreted and construction of the stairs has begun. This is important preparatory work for concreting the ceiling. We will also need day laborers for this, which we will have to look for intensively in the coming week.
Residencia II: A lot has also happened in this construction project over the past two weeks. The retaining wall to the slope has been concreted, the foundations for the columns in the middle section of the future building have been concreted and work has begun on the foundations at the front.
Freizeitheim: After a long break, the flooring publishing company is finally making progress again. We will be publishing the final result soon.
