Not so easy to keep twelve radio towers running

Doris Manco and team tirelessly on the road

Diospi Suyana operates 12 radio towers in southern Peru, which are up to 1,000 km apart. In five federal states, half of the population can receive our program around the clock. However, servicing the towers is costly. In the past few days, a team led by Doris Manco traveled to the Echarate district of the state of Cusco.

This woman from the Echarate district says that she regularly listens to Diospi Suyana radio.

A thorough service was once again due. Our facility looked like a jungle. So first we had to carry out a thorough clean. Technician David Huanco replaced a faulty appliance and then we headed back to Curahuasi. After all, it was a seven-hour drive.

But it’s worth the effort. Our viewers appreciate our program like the farmer’s wife on the left in the clip.

Half a primeval forest has to be removed.
David Hanco, Donato Cabrera, Javier Tintaya and Doris Manco have fulfilled their mission.
