The neurosurgeon from Fulda University Hospital is already in the starting blocks. In just over six months, he plans to move to Peru with his wife Marina, a physiotherapist, and their three children. As the position of neurosurgeon at the state hospital in Abancay is vacant, Andreas Warkentin would be the only representative of his profession in an entire department. He will not have to complain about a lack of work.
Warkentin can look back on an excellent career. He has already worked in research at Harvard University and spent several years at renowned English hospitals in London. When a general surgeon like Lukas Steffen (top left) and a neurosurgeon like Andreas Warkentin (top right) come up with something together, the result has to be something sensible. /KDJ
