Curtain up for the apocalypse

Overnight the biblical prophecies can come true

For centuries, the scholars of this world have pondered the meaning of Bible prophecies. The dark images and gruesome scenarios are in the context of a nation that is the cradle of the world’s great monotheistic religions. Judaism.

For a long time it seemed hardly credible that the announcements of Jesus Christ concerning the last days could ever come to pass. The prophecies of Daniel from the Old Testament and the contents of Revelation show stages of a path that would lead to the end of history as we know it. There is talk of an anti-God system (Antichrist), global wars of unprecedented proportions, and a climax of doom within the geographical borders of Israel.

Now 2000 years have passed since the writing of the New Testament and a good 2500 years since the writing of the prophetic books. When and how the struggle of the nations among themselves and the rebellion against God will take place, no one knows. But one thing can be said with certainty. All the mysterious prophecies from the Book of Books have long since become realistic possibilities.

Climate catastrophes and the destruction of our planet are already visible and measurable today. The nuclear arsenals are sufficient to destroy our earth several times over. The logistics for total surveillance of a nation by cameras in public places with reliable facial recognition of its citizens is in line with current technology (See China). The exact location of individuals by GPS systems, the control of payment transactions and the lack of escape rooms in the “Global Village” have brought the novels “1984” and “Brave New World” out of the library and onto the stage of this world. The future is now.

As Christians, we are optimists because we firmly believe that God holds all the strings. After the chaos of the apocalypse, God will intervene in a visible way. Justice, order and salvation will then not remain empty words. It may be that the Middle East will explode in the next few days. Perhaps Putin is having tactical nukes thrown in Ukraine because defeat would also mean the end of his dictatorship. Perhaps China will risk attacking Taiwan and wars may soon begin over resources such as water, arable land and raw materials.

At Diospi Suyana, we just keep going. In the various fields of work of our mission, we want to help and heal, comfort and encourage. At the same time, we never tire of proclaiming that all who trust Jesus Christ have an anchor in the storm. It’s good to remember that – in uncertain times like these. /KDJ
