The Pan-American highway is beautifully paved here in Peru, but the road that leads up to Hospital Diospi Suyana is very much a rough country track. For the past year we have been asking for help from the mayor in Abancay and from the Regional Government.
Finally, yesterday some engineers from Abancay began surveying the road. It seems that the President of the state of Apurimac has decided the road should be finished. We hope this is more than just a rumor! (Two fotos)
