“Stone on stone” and other good news
Dear friends, this time I am reporting on two building sites: one large and one small, but not unimportant construction project.
Colegio – new building: As is so often the case with the construction of buildings, the foundations seem to take a long time, but the rest of the shell construction is quick. At the moment, the daily construction progress is clearly visible, much to the delight of the site manager. The construction team is stable with around 15 men, a woman and a foreman, which also contributes to the growth of the walls. The columns on Building A have all been concreted, the last beams have been shuttered and work has begun on the staircase. All this was a good opportunity to fly over the construction site with a drone to get a bird’s eye view of the emerging floor plan of the two classrooms and the toilets. The sanitary connections have already been laid there. Work has also begun on laying the empty conduits for the electrical engineering. (Picture above: The drone makes it possible: a bird’s eye view of Building A)
Colegio – sports hall: The floor in the sports hall was partially destroyed by water ingress, particularly around the doors, and had to be replaced. The floor structure for the sports floor is more complicated than for an ordinary floor, as it has to be resilient to reduce the risk of injury. It was also necessary to use additional canopies to prevent rainwater from penetrating again. The sports hall has now been put back into operation. What is still causing difficulties is the procurement of the special paint for the markings on the hall floor.
A lot has also been done in the area of nuclear medicine – I will report on this in the next construction report.
Until then, I remain with greetings from Curahuasi, Saludos Christian Heuchert
