What does he mean by this statement?
Marvin Eisner also visited the Diospi Suyana stand at the Leipzig trade fair for orthopaedic technology. The production engineer works for the “Digital Production OT” in Ulm. What he heard about Diospi Suyana Hospital in general and the orthopaedic workshop in particular aroused his interest.
On August 13, he offered his help to Christian Haupt, head of our orthopaedic center, in a Zoom meeting. The word cranio-orthosis also came up in this brainstorming session. As this term is not familiar to the average person, a brief explanation is required. Some babies are born with cranial malformations, i.e. asymmetrical head dimensions. This is not just a cosmetic defect. If left untreated, secondary diseases can develop. The misaligned ear axis impairs the infant’s sense of balance and makes motor development more difficult. Occasionally, muscular imbalances develop in the neck area, which often leads to forced postures. Treatment consists of external splinting. As the child’s skull bones are not yet firmly fused, shaping is possible.
One day later, on August 14, Anghy, one of our physiotherapists, contacts Christian Haupt. A small infant with precisely this problem is in her consultation. The mother had already been to various clinics without receiving any effective treatment for her son. Marvin Eisner was probably very surprised when our master technician immediately contacted him in Ulm. After several calculations, the technician created the corresponding file, which Christian Haupt used to produce the required orthosis in his 3D printer. A fabulous print and a meticulous fitting. Now the young patient’s anatomy is brought back into the normal range with the attractive blue helmet. Incidentally, the helmet is worn for exactly 23 hours a day. Even if the little guy in the picture above looks a little sad, he will soon get used to the stylish helmet.
Isn’t that strange? At the perfect moment, the right patient appears out of nowhere. He is helped and everyone is happy. For us Christians, there are no coincidences. Rather, we believe that God determines the timing and intervenes in our destinies in a mysterious way.
