But it was worth the effort

The journey to the airport in Cusco proved difficult on Wednesday evening. Congested roads and detours cost valuable time. Dr. Zeier and Dr. John reached the terminal building in a great hurry and were told that their flight would be delayed by 90 minutes.
The display boards confirmed the departure time for “La 2034” at around 9 pm. Following an inner impulse, the two of them nevertheless put themselves on the waiting list for a parallel flight. Lo and behold, their booked connection was suddenly canceled. At the last moment, they managed to get to Lima on another plane – thanks to the waiting list. Shortly after midnight, they arrived at the mission’s guest house in South Lima.
On Thursday morning Guillermo Vidalón, Superintendent for Public Relations of the mining company “Southern Peru”, received the small delegation from Diospi Suyana. The one-hour meeting could turn out to be extremely important. (Picture below)
At 3pm the missionary doctors explained Diospi Suyana’s various fields of work to the German ambassador Sabine Bloch (see picture). In this cordial meeting Germany’s highest representative in Peru took a lot of time for her guests.
This was followed in the evening by a two-hour session with Mónica Belling Salas, editor of the magazine “Proactivo”. The journalist has been following the developments at Diospi Suyana since 2006.
Further appointments are on the agenda for Friday. /KDJ
