Jean is only three years old but his medical records are extensive. Due to a neurological illness, he can neither coordinate his arm and leg movements nor his head and body movements. Since his mother does not have a stroller, let alone wheelchair, she usually carries her son on her back, which, of course, is a huge burden.
With our workshop colleagues, we preped the smalles (adult) wheelchair we could find for Jean and gave it to his mother. When options are limited, creativity and teamwork become essential. And, we are quite happy with the result.
That said, Diospi Suyana would extremely thankful about a kid’s wheelchair donation!
