12 more days to the morning roll call

The new school year is being planned at the Diospi-Suyana-School

The Peruvian summer holidays last 10 weeks.  Beginning of February the teachers returned after their well-deserved holidays and are working on manifold fronts.

50 pupils are taking part in the holiday programme: music-making, singing, cooking, crafting, doing experiments and playing sports.  Most of these events are promoted by four volunteers who in turn are supported by seven teachers.

In the staff room the specialist groups are finalising their curricula.  Peruvian and German teaching staff together try to compile and prepare the best possible lesson plans.

In the secretary’s office Guisela Conde is busy enrolling new pupils (see above photo).  We expect to have a student body of over 400 children.  School recommences on 2nd March.  We have the teachers we need and still have room for more pupils: thank you for praying with us.
