Oxygen generators give air and life
We have two of our own oxygen generators and have borrowed a further one. Yesterday evening a lorry delivered a real treasure chest to the Hospital Diospi Suyana – hidden amongst hundreds of packs of toilet paper was our third generator. The generator was flown in from the USA a couple of days ago and as of today it is fully functional. Currently Oebele de Haan and Matthias Kügler are working hard affixing all the pipes and wires.
Three generators can produce 250 litres of oxygen a minute, or, to put it more precisely, can extract the oxygen from the air. The price for these machines is affordable and they are readily available on the world market.
And now we come to THE question of the year: why on earth did the State hospitals not follow in Diospi Suyana’s footsteps. Three months have passed since it became clear that such devices could come in very useful and there was plenty of time to make the necessary preparations.
Unfortunately the crisis exposes the insufficiency of the State health system. Countless conferences and zoom-meetings, phone calls and WhatsApp-correspondences took place, but to actually prepare the hospitals for a real emergency is quite another matter. And this maladministration is not only tragic, but extremely dangerous./KDJ
