Something unprecedented in Curahuasi’s history
It was a special opportunity for all of the inhabitants of the District of Curahuasi. Last night the candidates competing to become the city’s next mayor were able to present their political programmes. At their homes the locals were glued to their radios or their TVs. The TV-show took place in an orderly and disciplined fashion, all candidates were given the same amount of speaking-time and Doris Manco and Augustin Landeras moderated the rounds of questions.
During the programme several hundred people gathered outside the hospital’s gates in order to give moral support to their candidates. Diospi Suyana maintains a strictly neutral stance, but wants to give the Curahuasinos the opportunity to get to know all the competing candidates.
