The reward: an enormous muscle gain of the participants
Jens Weisflog writes from Saxony: “Pumps for Peru” – under this motto we as EFG Bischofswerda collected money for the mission hospital Diospi Suyana in Peru on the occasion of our city festival. We set up a weight bench and asked visitors to bench press a few pounds for Peru. A local butcher shop, pledged us 50 cents for each repetition. In just under four hours we had pumped up a tidy sum for Peru. Michael Friedemann, who himself worked for three years with his family in Peru at the hospital, passed on information and newsletters from the hospital to those interested. In addition, we added the proceeds from our cake bazaar, so that in the end we can transfer a high, three-digit sum to Peru. J.W.
- A proud sum for Peru – 2. a public relations measure for Diospi Suyana and 3. an encouragement to our team in South America.
Active for the good cause were members of the church community, visitors of the city festival and even a butcher shop. It is time for Diospi Suyana to open a branch in Bischofswerda. Maybe a small hospital or radio station. Let’s see what can be done. /KDJ
